چکیده

The system, in which the excitons interact with both the weak-coupling bulk longitudinal-optical (LO) phonons and strong-coupling surface-optical (SO) phonons in a slab of polar crystal, is studied by using a linear combination operator and the Lee-Low-Pines variational method. The expression of the induced potential of the exciton is derived, and the numerical calculations for the AgBr crystal as an example are made. The results show that the induced potential of the exciton relates not only to the distance between electron and hole, but also to the thickness of slab and temperature. Light-trapping for room temperature Bose-Einstein condensation in InGaAs quantum wells.

We demonstrate the possibility of room-temperature, thermal equilibrium Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) of exciton-polaritons in a multiple quantum well (QW) system composed of InGaAs quantum wells surrounded by InP barriers, allowing for the emission of light near telecommunication wavelengths. The QWs are embedded in a cavity consisting of double slanted pore (SP2) photonic crystals composed...

Investigation tow of negative refraction characters in the three different 2D phononic crystals

In this paper, a two-dimensional phononic crystal comprising of steel rod in water is investigated. Three cross- sections for this rod are considered using finite element method (EFM). We plot the equifrequency surface of the first band, because of equifrequency surface convex around the edge of the first Brillouin Zone, we guess the negative effective phononic mass and so negative refraction. ...

Mobility of an electron in a multimode polar lattice

The interaction of a free electron with a polar lattice possessing more than one infrared-active opticalphonon mode is considered. From the full Lagrangian describing the electron-lattice system in the presence of an applied field we derive an effective electron-phonon coupling constant and an effective longitudinal opticalphonon frequency that we argue give accurate predictions when used in th...

Theory of exciton transport with quadratic exciton–phonon coupling

The coupling of excitons with phonons is an important process determining the mechanism of exciton transport in molecular crystals. Although linear exciton-phonon coupling has been extensively treated before, there has been little work on quadratic coupling. In this paper the theory of exciton transport is extended to take weak quadratic coupling into account, and the diffusion constant compute...

Bias-Induced Optical Absorption of Current Carrying Two-Orbital Quantum Dot with Strong Electron-Phonon Interaction (Polaron Regime)

The one photon absorption (OPA) cross section of a current carrying two-orbital quantum dot (QD) with strong electron-phonon interaction (polaron regime) is considered. Using the self-consistent non-equilibrium Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation, we determine the dependence of OPA cross section on the applied bias voltage, the strength of effective electron-electron interaction, and level spacing ...
